The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has awarded the National Utility Contractors
Association (NUCA) a 2018 Power of A Silver Award for the construction of a confined space and trench
rescue facility for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP).
This facility is being built for the VDFP using donated labor, equipment, and materials provided by NUCA member firms from NUCA’s Virginia Chapter. Phase one (confined space training facility) was completed in April 2018 with Phase two (trench rescue facility) to be completed prior to the end of the year.

The VDFP have approved the facility for use by NUCA of Virginia member firms (subject to availablility). NUCA would like to thank the following member firms for their donations to the project:
W.C. Spratt, Inc., Concrete Pipe & Precast, United Rentals, The law firm of Watt, Tieder, Hoffar, Fitzgerald, and Virginia Public Works Equipment Company
