Last week, NUCA of Virgnia members met via teleconference to discuss future plans. Some highlights: A tentative date was set for next year's lobbying event, plans for setting up a chapter training program were made, and future chapter teleconferences were set for the first Wednesday of every month at 2:00pm.
NUCA of Virginia Chapter Executive Director, Jessica Bull, has returned from maternity leave after welcoming a baby girl into her family. She is now available for any chapter inquiries you may have. Contact her at 703-336-9708 or email her at email@example.com. Thanks to Deborah Pyzdrowski at the national offices for filling in while she was gone.
More participants in chapter conference calls are always welcome. Future calls will be held at 2:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month, so mark your calendar for the next call on May 3rd. Join us! Email Jessica at firstname.lastname@example.org for an invite.
Friday, January 12th, 2018 from 8:00am-12:00pm is the tentative date set for next year's lobbying day. Just two days after the state session begins, we hope to maximize our influence. The next decision that needs to be made is whether or not to get a chapter hotel block for the night before the event. Join us on the next call to put in your two cents. Keep an eye on the chapter advocacy page for updates.
NUCA of Virgnia is exploring the possibility of setting up a chapter training program. The program would provide a variety of safety training courses, including NUCA Competent Person Training as well as NUCA Confined Space Entry Training. Progress on the establishment of this program will be reported on the next call. Look for a new Education tab on the chapter website, coming soon.
